 JACK THE RIPPER TOUR

During the late summer and autumn of 1888 a series of horrific murders took place in the East End of London that became known as the Whitechapel Murders.  The murderer, who was given the title of Jack the Ripper was never apprehended.  Relive this 'Autumn of Terror' with an Historical Footsteps walking tour through the streets of Whitechapel and Spitalfields.

AS FEATURED IN THE  BBC 1 TELEVISION PROGRAMME 'THE WEEK WE WENT TO WAR' 

 

In 1940, London and many other cities in Britain suffered a period of sustained air raids that tested the determination and courage of the civilian population of this country. Although most of the physical damage to buildings has been repaired it is still possible to see evidence of that period in our history. Why not join one our Historical Footsteps Tours on a guidedwalk through some of the areas affected by the Blitz.

 

THE KRAY TWINS TOUR

 

Two of the most famous British criminals of the 20th century were the Kray twins, Ronnie and Reggie. Much of the first half of their lives was spent in the East End of London around Bethnal Green and Whitechapel.  Why not join one our Historical Footsteps Tours on a guided walk through some of the areas and locations frequented by the brothers in their youth and later gangland careers.

 

OLD EAST END OF LONDON  AND RIVERSIDE TAVERNS WALK 

This tour will take you through part of London's East End to places such as the site of the world's oldest Music Hall, Jamrach's Animal Emporium, St Paul's Church Shadwell and it American connection. We will also visit such riverside taverns as The Town of Ramsgate,  The Prospect of Whitby and others.  

 

THE HIDDEN CITY

This Tour will visit a number of the sometimes forgotten alleys, courts and yards of the City of London. Visit courts such as Ball Court, Amen court (with its visible reminder of the Old Newgate Gaol, Bell Inn Yard, CastleCourt, Cowper Court and many more. Your guide will tell the all the historical facts associated with each.

 

THE LONDON SPY WALK

 This walk visits a number of sites within Central London that have been connected with intelligence activities and famous spy cases over the past two hundred year. In this tour we look at spy cases such as the Krogers, Anthony Blunt and the Cambridge spies.

 

 

 BATTLE OF BRITAIN TOUR

Spirit of Kent Spitfire

 

This tour will visit the airfields of Kenley and Biggin Hill plus the Shoreham Kent Aviation museum. It is also hoped that a visit to the Fighter Command Bunker at Uxbridge might be included. The day tour will also include the opportunity to sit in a genuine World War II Spritfire that saw action in 1944. Further details of proposed dates and prices will be available shortly.
